Assignments for the week of April 15th through the week of April 19th

Assignments

Monday 4/15

Drama 1st period:
Students finish performing Stage Movement Skits from page 47 of the Drama Projects textbook. Students begin new improvisation skits using ideas given on Chapter  Stage Movement handout.

Language Arts 2nd and 5th period:
Students will continue to work on Evidence Chart Handout for the stories "All Aboard with Thomas Garrett", "Harriet Tubman, The Moses of Her People", and "The Life of Harriet Tubman". pages 633-648. The example and main ideas for chart is on page 634. Whatever is left to complete shall be completed for homework.

Social Studies 3rd and 6th period:
Students will continue working on their myths. All students will work in groups to create an original myth to explain either: a natural event, an emotion, or weather using the god or gods they created on Friday. Students will write their myths out and will present them as a skit they will film in class on Wednesday.
No homework

Tuesday 4/16

Drama 1st period:
Students will finish performing their improvisation skits from the Chapter 5 Stage Movement handouts. Students will then complete the self critique portion of the handout and write a 5-8 sentence summary of their skits on the worksheet. If time permits the students will begin rehearsing their revised skits.

Language Arts 2nd and 5th period:
Students will review and hand in the evidence chart for  "All Aboard with Thomas Garrett", "Harriet Tubman, The Moses of Her People", and "The Life of Harriet Tubman". pages 633-648. Students will complete the Standards Review Test for Chapter 6.
No homework

Social Studies 3rd and 6th period:
Students will complete the written version of their myths and begin rehearsing them as performance skits. If time allows, groups that are ready will begin filming today. No homework.

Wednesday 4/17

Drama 1st period:
Students will perform their revised Stage Business Improvisational Skits. After performances students will review for Chapter  Stage Movement Test.

Language Arts 2nd and 5th period:
Students will begin lesson on verbs and subject-verb agreement. Students will read in the Grammar books pages 48-49 and complete Exercise 1 on page 50 of their grammar books in class. No homework.

Social Studies 3rd and 6th period:
Students will continue to film their original myths. Once myth is filmed students will begin a handout on Classical Greece and complete for homework.

Thursday 4/18

Drama 1st period:
Chapter 5 Stage Movement Test today. After test students will Read Chapter 6 on Stage Direction.

Language Arts 2nd and 5th period:
Students will review verbs. Students will correct Verb Exercise #1 page 50 of the Grammar books. Students will read pages 50-51 and complete Exercise 2 from the Grammar books. Homework: Complete  Verb worksheet

Social Studies 3rd and 6th period:
Read and review pages 370-376 in Social Studies books. Begin review questions 2-7 in class. Complete for homework.

Friday 4/19

Drama 1st period:
Read and review Stage Direction with the students. Students will pick new groups and begin new skits dealing with Stage Direction..

Language Arts 2nd and 5th period:
Correct and collect verb worksheet. Begin Exercise 3 page 52 of the Grammar books in class. If time permits Exercise 3 will be reviewed and corrected in class.

Social Studies 3rd and 6th period:
Correct and collect review questions page 376 2-7. Begin Ancient Greece Democracy project.
