Review and perform warm-up activity. Divide into groups. Begin group warm-up activity skits. Rehearse and begin performing today.
Langauge Arts 2nd and 5th period:
Review "forms of fiction". Review "La Bamba" p.357-362. Begin Structure Chart Tree Map for story in class. Complete for homework.
Social Studies 3rd and 6th period:
Correct and collect Cause and Effect Chart for Question #2 Ch.10 Ancient Israel pages 324-329. Begin Social Studies Benchmark today. No Homework.
Wednesday Jan. 30th
Exploratory Drama 1st period:
Complete performing warm-ups in groups. Begin one noise one movement activity. In groups begin human machine activity. Begin rearsing and perform today.
Langauge Arts 2nd and 5th period:
Review and correct Structure Charts/Tree Maps for "La Bamba". Review, "Forms of Fiction". Begin reading pages p. 367-381 "The Gold Cadillac". Begin concept web for "setting". Complete for homework.
Social Studies 3rd and 6th period:
Complete Benchmark tests today. Begin reiew questions p.329 3-7. Complete for homework.

Tuesday 1/22
Drama 1st period:
Students will perform the final version of "The Bully" skit. If time permits students will be placed in new groups and receive scripts for their final one-act plays.
Language Arts 2nd and 5th period:
Begin Benchmark Tests today in class. If students do not complete in class students will be given time in class tomorrow to complete. Begin reading pages 313-321 in Language Arts books regarding "Applications". No homework
Social Studies 3rd and 6th period:
Complete, correct and collect Re-Teach worksheets for Chapter 5 Ancient Egypt. Review for Ch.5 Ancient Egypt Test tomorrow. Students can use any notes written on one single sheet of paper front and back. No books will be allowed during tomorrow's test. They can also study using answers to the following questions:
What did Ramses the II do after claimimg victory over the Hittites?
What advantage did the Nile river offer for transportation?
What system involves bartering?
How did the Egyptians view the afterlife?
How was Hatshepsut different and the same as other pharoahs?
Why was Akhenaton unpopular among Egypt's priests?
How did Egypt change after Ramses II died?
Students may also copy important vocabulary and their definitions on to their one single sheet of paper.

Exploratory Drama 1st period:Read and review Chapter 9 Character Analysis. Choose new groups. Review and rehearse new skits.
Language Arts 2nd and 5th period:
Read and review "theme". Review book report requirements and due date (Jan. 24th). Begin short story activity worksheet involving "theme" in class. Complete for homework.
Social Studies 3rd and 6th period:
Review Ch 5 Vocabulary for Ancient Egypt. Complete Budget Vocabulary Matrix assignment worksheet for homework.
Tuesday Jan. 15th
Exploratory Drama 1st period:Review Character Analysis skits in class. Rehearse and perform today.
Language Arts 2nd and 5th period:
Review and collect short story activity worksheet involving,"theme". Begin reading "Aaron's Gift", pages 268-278 in Language Arts books. As class reads we will be begin a cause and effect chart as listed at the beginning of the story p. 268. Students will list at least 3 problems for the main character Aaron and 2 effects for each cause. Students will re-read the story and complete the chart for homework.
Social Studies 3rd and 6th period:
Budget Vocabulary Matrix are due. Students will read Ancient Egypt Ch.5 pages 164-170. Students will begin "Three Kingdoms" handout.
Homework: Reread pages 164-170 Ch.5 Ancient Egypt. Complete "Three Kingdoms" handout.
Wednesday Jan. 16th
Exploratory Drama 1st period:Review Character Analysis Ch.9. Revise, rehearse and perform Character skits if time allows.

Review Cause and Effect charts for "Aaron's Gift". Begin questions 1-5 and 7-8 on page 279 of Language Arts books. Complete questions for homework and reread the story.
Social Studies 3rd and 6th period:
Correct and collect "Three Kingdoms" worksheet. Begin 2nd handout for Lesson 3 Ch.5 Ancient Egypt. Complete for homework.
Thursday Jan. 17th
Exploratory Drama 1st period:Begin new skits using mad lib titled "The Bully". Complete handout with ending before rehearsing.
